I first realized I wanted to be an author when I learned about fanfiction. You see, I would always write fanfictions in my head... I just didnߴt realize it. So, when I finally met an author- over zoom, of course- I asked ”Is there a type of fiction where you write a book based on other books you read?” And she said that there was. So I wrote my first book: A Wings of Fire Fanfiction. And then I realized that that was what I was meant to do! So I did what God told me, and I wrote.
I can write 7,000 words in a day if I have a day with no plans, so, assuming I have as much time as needed, I can write a 70,000-word book in ten days. It took me three months or so to write Splendor, though.
I donߴt know if this counts, but Iߴm one of the few authors who writes in the genre I do. There are a few types of Christian authors: authors who think that you have to write a Nonfiction book about Christianity for it to be a Christian book, authors who just donߴt bother with writing a Christian book, even though theyߴre a Christian, and then the people who write a book that symbolizes Christianity... But donߴt say it. Then you have me. I write Fantasy, but I also manage to make it Christain. So I guess thatߴs my ߴinteresting writing quirkߴ, as well as the fact that I cannot write in the present tense. I tried.
They donߴt. And Iߴm only half-joking. Itߴs harder than it looks! The first thing you do is decide whether to self-publish or traditionally publish. (P. S., traditional publishing is publishing with a company like Scholastic.) Then, you edit and copyright your book (If youߴre self-publishing). The cost of editors varies, but copyrighting costs sixty-five dollars. At least, it did for me. Then, you have to get the cover and book art done and get an ISBN (International Standard Book Number) for $125 (Again, if youߴre self-publishing). Then you either pitch your book to a publishing company (if youߴre traditionally publishing) or publish it however youߴre going to publish it (if youߴre self-publishing).
”I love reading! I have read Wings of Fire, Warrior cats, and a bunch of writing books! I also love doing anything with animals! I know many dog breeds, and I have three dogs, three cats, and one rat. Yߴknow... Normal writer things.
They support it! My mom edits my books, my brother formats my books, and the rest of my family encourages me.
I learned how hard it is to write, edit, and publish a book. Itߴs harder than it looks!
